UTA runs Canvas behind a SAML redirect to Microsoft, with NetIDplus approval when you are off campus. UTA concentrates on WebAssign and McGraw Hill Connect, which is most of what Silent Student solves — three of the four courses we looked at are covered outright. The exception is BIOL 1441, which uses Pearson Modified Mastering.

How it works →UT Arlington's LMS is Canvas at uta.instructure.com, reached from the OIT Canvas portal at oit.uta.edu/canvas or directly at uta.instructure.com/login/saml. The Canvas SAML login uses your UTA NetID — the same Microsoft sign-in as your UTA Microsoft 365 account, as NetID@mavs.uta.edu — then a NetIDplus prompt when you are off campus. UTA moved Canvas multi-factor from Duo to Microsoft Authenticator in 2021, so the off-campus prompt is a Microsoft Authenticator approval. Silent Student is built around Canvas, so it reads your courses through the same Canvas your instructors post to.
Sign in with your NetID as NetID@mavs.uta.edu and approve one NetIDplus prompt in Microsoft Authenticator. Silent Student keeps the trusted Canvas session running.
Every UT Arlington course and assignment is pulled from Canvas and ordered by due date.
Essays and discussion posts are held in Draft Review, and a graded, single-attempt, untimed Canvas quiz stops for your review if an answer falls below your 70% confidence threshold.

BIOL 1441 uses Pearson Modified Mastering, which is not one of Silent Student's dedicated solvers — it falls back to the general visual agent and holds more for your review. The other three courses we looked at run WebAssign and McGraw Hill Connect — the SmartBook half is covered outright, the Connect problem sets are not.
You approve one NetIDplus prompt when the session starts from off campus. UTA moved Canvas multi-factor from Duo to Microsoft Authenticator in 2021, so signing into Canvas uses the same Microsoft Authenticator approval as your UTA Microsoft 365 account. The trusted session then persists, so you are not re-prompted on every run.
Native Canvas quizzes, essays, and discussions; WebAssign for MATH 1426 Calculus I; and McGraw Hill Connect for ACCT 2301 accounting and PSYC 1315 psychology. Yes. Texas public colleges and universities share the Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS), so credits move on a common numbering scheme and UTA accepts transfer credit from Texas community colleges and universities. What Silent Student does is procedural, not moral: your Canvas essays, discussion posts and file uploads always become drafts for you to read, edit and approve, and are never submitted on their own whatever confidence the model reports. Quizzes work differently — on a graded, single-attempt, untimed Canvas quiz with time still on the clock, an answer below your confidence threshold (70% by default) stops the quiz for your review, while timed and multi-attempt quizzes submit on their own. External courseware is the one to know about: it has no draft step at all, so a Packback post publishes as it is written.
