No free plan, and no free trial for general signups: new accounts start a paid monthly plan at Stripe checkout. The only free trial is a 7-day limited one that comes with an eligible promo code (Terms, section 4). You can watch it work on the live demo before you pay, and a money-back guarantee applies if a problem on our side can’t be fixed within 3 days (request within 30 days, before you cancel; conditions apply).

An eligible promo code may come with a 7-day limited free trial. It includes every feature, the Pro engine too, with one AI-usage allowance for the whole trial that is smaller than a paid plan’s monthly allowance; it does not reset, and AI work pauses when it runs out. You need a valid payment method to start the trial. Cancel before it ends and you aren’t charged; otherwise billing starts when the trial ends and the plan renews monthly. Canceling a trial ends trial access at once, and there is one free trial per person and per payment method. Without an eligible code, a new account starts a paid plan at checkout (Terms, section 4).

If the problem is on our side and we can’t fix it within 3 days of your refund request, you get your money back. Request a refund within 30 days of your first subscription payment (or within 7 days of a later monthly payment) and keep your plan active until we reply; cancelling first ends eligibility. Conditions apply (Terms, section 4).

Yes, under the money-back guarantee in Terms, section 4. If Silent Student doesn’t work for you because of a problem on our side and we can’t fix it within 3 days of your request, we refund that payment in full. Request it within 30 days of your first subscription payment, or within 7 days of a later monthly payment: on your Account page choose Manage Billing, then “Cancel or request a refund”, or text or call (307) 228-0145. Keep your plan active until we reply; cancelling first withdraws the request. It applies once per person and doesn’t cover problems caused by your school, a third-party platform, your device or your network, work the app tells you it doesn’t support before it runs, such as proctored exams, or a run you stop yourself. Other payments are nonrefundable, except where the law requires a refund.

You can cancel anytime, with no long-term commitment. Sign in at silentstudent.com/account, choose Manage Billing, then “Cancel or request a refund”. A few optional questions follow, and you can skip each one. If you want a refund, request it before you cancel: cancelling ends refund eligibility. Your plan stays active through the billing period you’ve already paid for, and after that the app and downloads are locked. To come back, click Manage Billing. Don’t close your account to cancel: closing it cancels any subscription immediately, with no refund for the rest of the month, and ends your access to the app.

Every plan includes every platform and feature, the vision agent and Autopilot included. Plans differ in two things: monthly usage and the advanced pro model. Plus fits most students: the pro model and double Base usage. Base is for a light semester. Pro has unlimited usage, for back-to-back course loads.

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from your account page at any time — the change prorates automatically through Stripe.

Two. Each plan covers two computers at a time, Mac or Windows, for your own coursework, and you may connect only school accounts that belong to you (Terms). If you try to activate a third computer, the app asks you to deactivate one first. Base, Plus and Pro all include the same two devices.

On Base and Plus, the usage allowance resets at the start of each billing period. When it’s used up, AI work pauses until the next period starts or until you change plans; Plus has double the Base allowance. Pro has unlimited usage for normal personal use, under the fair-use terms: sharing an account, reselling it or running it for other people’s accounts isn’t covered (Terms, sections 4 and 5).

If you have a promo code, for example from a Silent Student rep, enter it when you sign up, or redeem it on your account page before you choose a plan. Stripe checkout shows any accepted discount before you pay, and some codes add the 7-day limited trial. A Silent Student code works only at Silent Student checkout. It is not a Cengage, WebAssign or MindTap code, and Silent Student is not affiliated with Cengage. There is no yearly plan; every plan is billed monthly.

Payments run entirely through Stripe. Card details are entered in Stripe’s checkout, and Silent Student never sees or stores your card number.
