How the web app works in the cloud.
The web app runs the Silent Student agent in a browser on our servers. You chat with it and watch that browser live, right next to the chat. You can take control any time.
Works on a Chromebook, iPad, phone or any computer with an up-to-date browser. Already have a plan? Go to app.silentstudent.com.
A real browser on our servers
You see each page as it works. Tap Take control to use it yourself.
What happens when you start.
Sign in to the web app
Go to app.silentstudent.com and sign in with your Silent Student email and password. If you joined with Google, set a password first at silentstudent.com/reset.
A cloud browser opens for you
We start a browser on our servers for your account. If every browser is busy, you see your place in line, and yours starts when one frees up.
Tell the agent what to do
Type the assignment in the chat, for example “Finish my Chapter 5 homework on WebAssign.” The agent makes a plan and starts working in the browser.
Step in when it asks
When the agent reaches a sign-in page, a sign-in code or a check like a CAPTCHA, it tells you it needs you. Take control, do that step, then give it back.
Watch it, or take over.
The live view is the agent’s real browser, not a recording. Here is how the controls work.
Watch it live
You see each page and click as it happens. While the agent works, the browser is view only, so a stray tap can’t get in its way.
Take control
Tap Take control and the agent stops at its next step. Now you can click, scroll and type in the browser, for example to enter your school password.
Give it back
Tap Give back to agent when you’re done. It looks at the page again before it acts, so it starts from where you left things.
Or type your login in the chat
You can also type your school email and password in the chat, and the agent signs in for you. You don’t have to take control at all.
What we keep, and who can see it.
A plain summary of the cloud parts of our privacy policy and Terms. If this page and those differ, they control.
Saved logins are encrypted
When you sign in to a site in the cloud browser, or send a login in the chat, we store that login and the site’s cookies encrypted on our servers. We use them only to sign you in and do the tasks you give the agent.
Your browser is yours alone
Each account gets its own cloud browser, kept apart from everyone else’s. Your next session opens with the sites you already signed in to.
What our staff can see
For support and safety, our staff can view a cloud session live and can end it, for example to fix a problem you reported. Staff never look at your saved logins, except to fix a problem you report.
Erase it any time
We keep your cloud logins, cookies and browser data until you ask us to erase them. Email support@silentstudent.com and we erase them from our servers.
Sign-ins come from our servers
The cloud browser reaches your school from our servers’ datacenter address, not your home network. Some sites may ask you to confirm the sign-in, and a few may block it.
Work shows as yours
It signs in as you, so anything it submits shows as your work. Page content goes to AI model providers, the same as on the desktop app. Check your school’s rules before you use it.

Questions about the cloud browser.
No. It is the agent’s own browser, running on our servers. Your device only shows it, so nothing else on your screen is shared.
The agent stops at its next step and waits. You can click, scroll and type in the browser. When you tap Give back to agent, it looks at the page again and carries on with the same task.
The cloud browser connects from our servers, which use a datacenter address, not your home internet. Some sites ask you to confirm a sign-in from a new place. Take control and do that step yourself. A few sites may block it. The desktop app signs in from your own connection instead.
Your saved logins are stored encrypted, and staff never look at them, except to fix a problem you report to us. For support and safety, staff can view a cloud session live and can end it.
Email support@silentstudent.com and ask us to erase them. We erase your stored logins, cookies and cloud browser data from our servers. Backups expire on their normal schedule.
Every cloud browser is in use right now. The app shows your place in line, and your browser starts when one frees up.
