Supported platforms

Where Silent Student actually works.

Canvas is home base. Seven platforms have a solver written specifically for them. Everything else falls back to a general screenshot agent — reliable enough to be useful, not reliable enough to promise. Here is the honest breakdown, including what each integration will not do.

Silent Student signs into your Canvas LMS (or D2L Brightspace) inside its own browser and works assignments in due-date order. Canvas-native work — quizzes, essays, discussion posts, file uploads — is handled directly. External courseware is reached the way you reach it: by following the link out of your Canvas course.

Not every platform is equal, and pretending otherwise is how you end up with a tool that fails silently. The seven below have dedicated solvers that understand the specific interface — an equation editor, an accordion of sub-questions, an adaptive probe queue. Anything else is driven by a general vision agent that reads screenshots and decides what to click; it works on a lot of things and is honest when it cannot confirm what it did.

Two access notes worth knowing before you pick a plan: WebAssign, MindTap and the general vision agent require the Plus plan. Everything else on this page works on Base.

Canvas LMS

Native handler
Does
Signs into your Canvas and works the four native assignment types — quizzes, essays, discussion posts and file uploads — in due-date order. It is also the doorway to every external platform below, which are opened from their Canvas links.
Doesn't
It never submits your writing without you: essays, discussions and file uploads are always drafted and held for approval. Graded single-attempt untimed quizzes also stop for review before they submit.

Apex Learning

Dedicated solver
Does
Reads your Apex unit map and walks it activity by activity — studies, practices, quizzes and tests — auto-selecting the next open activity after every submit, up to fifty in one continuous run.
Doesn't
It will not automate a proctored tool such as Proctorio, will not attempt an activity Apex has locked behind mastery gating, and pauses itself after three failed activities in a row.

Cengage

Dedicated solver
Does
Follows your Canvas module link out through the Cengage LTI launch, reads the question scoring table, and works the unanswered parts — typing into the MathQuill equation editor and ChemPad formula fields rather than a plain text box.
Doesn't
It will not re-submit a part that already has a green check, retype a value already marked wrong, or click a SKIP link. The long-form Cengage solver and MindTap need the Plus plan.

McGraw Hill

Dedicated solver
Does
Holds one long-running SmartBook session and walks the adaptive path — reads each probe, answers it, submits at high confidence, does the remediation reading after a miss, and stops when the concept counter reads N of N.
Doesn't
SmartBook is the only McGraw Hill product with a purpose-built solver. Connect and ALEKS have no dedicated solver and fall back to the general vision agent, which is less reliable.

My Business Course

Dedicated solver
Does
Opens myBusinessCourse from its Canvas link, fills the account dropdowns and the debit and credit columns row by row, clicks Check on as-you-go homework, and runs the three-step Moodle finish flow so the attempt lands as complete.
Doesn't
It skips any question already marked correct rather than re-answering it, and it does not promise a correct entry — accounting answers are worth checking like your own.

WebAssign

Dedicated solver · Plus plan
Does
Reads the scoring table, jumps to the parts still worth points, and answers each sub-question in the input it actually uses — MathQuill equation editor, ChemPad, numeric fields, dropdowns, ordering columns — submitting on that part's own button and reading the result before moving on.
Doesn't
Requires the Plus plan. It leaves correct and locked parts alone, and it cannot promise a correct answer on a hard problem — only a careful attempt that does not waste your remaining tries.

Packback

Dedicated solver
Does
Launches Packback through Canvas, reads the discussion requirements, writes the question and the replies to real classmate posts, and runs every word through a voice pass before submitting.
Doesn't
Unlike Canvas work, Packback posts publish directly — there is no approval step. It cannot promise a curiosity score, and it makes no claim about any AI-detector outcome.

What isn't here

Silent Student works with Canvas LMS, D2L Brightspace, Moodle and Blackboard Learn Ultra. Google Classroom is not supported. On Blackboard it handles native assignments, discussions and six measured test-question types, while refusing timed, proctored, password-gated and IP-restricted tests; Original Course View courses are skipped rather than guessed at. Pearson MyLab, McGraw Hill Connect and ALEKS have no dedicated solver — they are reachable through the general vision agent when launched from a supported LMS, with the reliability caveat above, and we would rather say that than list them as integrations.

Proctored assessments are not automated. The Apex solver refuses a proctored tool such as Proctorio rather than attempting it, and no part of this product is offered as a route around proctoring software. Silent Student also promises no grade or academic outcome — you are responsible for reviewing what gets submitted under your name and for your institution's academic-integrity policies.
