Mount Mercy runs D2L Brightspace on a native username and password — the same myMountMercy account you use for self-service, and separate from your Microsoft 365 email. Three of the five courses we looked at run entirely inside Brightspace and are covered directly. Two depend on whether your instructor links a publisher tool.

These are five common Mount Mercy courses. Mount Mercy does not publish courseware adoptions centrally, so two of these entries record what we could not confirm rather than what we could — the course content area is where you settle it.

The Current Students hub (mtmercy.edu/info-for/current-students) links straight to Brightspace and to the MyMountMercy self-service portal at selfservice.mtmercy.edu. The Brightspace page is the native D2L username/password form ("Powered by D2L Brightspace"), and you sign in with the same myMountMercy account you use for self-service. We did not see an external SSO redirect on the Brightspace login; your Microsoft 365 student email (@mtmercy.edu) is a separate login. Silent Student supports Brightspace as a primary LMS, so it reads your courses the same way your instructors post them.

Your Brightspace courses and assignments are pulled in and ordered by due date.
Discussion posts and essays are held in Draft Review until you approve them. Quizzes and work on external courseware submit on their own.

Two courses. PS 101's courseware varies by section, and we could not confirm whether BC 265 accounting uses a publisher platform at all. If your instructor links one, Silent Student follows the link but may hold more for review depending on the platform. BI 125, the composition sequence and MA 006 run natively in Brightspace and are covered directly.
You go straight to brightspace.mtmercy.edu and use the native D2L login — the same myMountMercy account as selfservice.mtmercy.edu. We didn't see a separate two-factor step on the Brightspace page; if your account prompts for verification, you approve it once and the session persists.
Native Brightspace quizzes, discussions, and essays across courses like PS 101, BC 265, BI 125, and your EN composition and MA math requirements. We couldn't confirm a specific publisher homework platform at Mount Mercy, so if a section links one, Silent Student follows it and holds uncertain answers for review.
Silent Student works per-account, so you connect each school separately. It supports Brightspace and Canvas schools alike, so a course on another campus's LMS runs the same way as your Mount Mercy Brightspace queue.
Mount Mercy's academic integrity policy is yours to follow. Silent Student's contribution is a hard stop before submission, but only on some kinds of work: your Brightspace essays, discussion posts and file uploads always become drafts for you to read, edit and approve, and are never submitted on their own whatever confidence the model reports. Brightspace quizzes submit on their own — the quiz review hold is a Canvas feature. External courseware is the one to know about: it has no draft step at all, so a Packback post publishes as it is written.
