Is there an Edgenuity answer key?

Short answer: not one meant for students. Imagine Learning, the company behind Imagine Edgenuity, tells teachers: “Refrain from posting assessments or answer keys on easily found websites where students can find them.” It also works to remove its content when it turns up online. Teachers unlock tests, add retakes and grade essays, so the honest route to Edgenuity answers runs through the lesson (its videos, transcript and your notes) and your teacher.

Every quote below comes from an Imagine Learning page or guide, checked October 20, 2026. Edgenuity is now Imagine Edgenuity, from Imagine Learning. This guide is not affiliated with either.

Why isn’t there an Edgenuity answer key for students?

Because the keys belong to teachers, and the rules for students point the other way. Three things from Imagine Learning:

  • Teachers are told to keep keys private. Its academic integrity page asks teachers not to post assessments or answer keys where students can find them, and to “Block websites on your school network that are known to post answers to assessment questions.”
  • The user terms forbid reposting course content and answering by code. Imagine Learning’s End User Terms of Service (last revised January 1, 2022) say you will not “publish or post screenshots, video, text or other reproductions of content from any course provided through the Services” or “use any technology, code, or other method to automatically skip content or answer questions provided through the Services.”
  • Assessments are guarded. The Imagine Edgenuity academic integrity flyer describes a setting that hides questions a student has already seen when they come back to an assessment, “preventing students from revisiting questions after potentially consulting outside sources for assistance.”

We found no Imagine Learning page that says Edgenuity gives each student different questions, so we don’t claim that. What we can say: an answer sheet posted online was never an official key, posting it breaks the terms it was copied under, and nobody can promise it matches your course.

Apex Learning does say that about its computer-scored assessments: they are designed so that no two students take the same one (see Is there an Apex Learning answer key?). Savvas Realize, like Edgenuity, keeps its answer keys for teachers, in Teacher Resources, as Is there a Savvas Realize answer key? explains.

How do Edgenuity lessons, quizzes and tests work?

Courses are built from lessons, and lessons from activities. The student quick start guide (written for Los Angeles Unified in 2019, hosted by Imagine Learning) and Imagine Learning’s educator guide describe the flow:

Edgenuity lesson and assessment rules, from Imagine Learning guides
PartWhat Imagine Learning saysSource
Lesson activities“Lessons include activities such as Warm-up, Instruction, Summary, Assignment, and Quiz.”Student quick start guide
Moving on“You must complete the entire activity to be able to move on to the next one.”Student quick start guide
A failed quiz or test“If you fail an assessment, you can access an additional attempt to raise your score.” When a student is out of retakes, the teacher’s alert reads “Educator needs to add retake.”Both guides
Tests and examsA student ready for one can be blocked until the teacher unlocks it (the alert reads “Educator needs to unlock assessment”), with the advice to “Review student work prior to unlocking high-stakes assessment.”Educator guide
Essays and projectsFlagged as an “activity that requires teacher grading.” The teacher’s action is “Grade essay or project.”Educator guide
Teacher ReviewAlerts a teacher “when a student has reached a test or exam,” so the teacher can check the work before unlocking it.Academic integrity page

So the parts people most want keys for, unit tests and exams, are the parts a teacher unlocks, watches or grades. How Edgenuity’s lessons and retakes compare with Apex Learning’s is in Edgenuity vs Apex.

What help does Edgenuity give you in a lesson?

The student quick start guide lists the tools inside a lesson activity:

  • An icon in each lesson activity that opens “your eNotes, glossary, and transcript.”
  • “Take eNotes or paper notes for each lesson. Pause the video if you need more time.”
  • Read-aloud: “To hear the text read aloud, highlight the section” and click the audio icon.
  • “Use other tools such as the highlighter, calculators, and grammar handbook as needed.”
  • A Help Center, reached from the menu under your name.

Your notes are the closest thing to a key for a lesson quiz, because they come from the same lesson. Imagine Learning’s educator guide says “Student-teacher conferencing is key to student success,” so asking for help is expected. What does Edgenuity record?

A lot, and your teacher sees it. The educator guide says “As students work through their coursework, we are constantly collecting and recording data in real-time,” and splits time into Active Time and Idle Time. The student guide sets a goal of “at least 60 minutes of active time per day with less than 15% of idle time in each course.”

Districts can add more. Imagine Learning’s Academic Integrity Bundle, which a district has to activate, includes:

  • Speed Radar, which “automatically flags tasks for review when students are progressing through activities more quickly than expected.”
  • A Generative AI Detector that “scans student submissions to help educators determine if a student submission was created using an AI tool.”
  • A Plagiarism Checker, and an Academic Integrity Report that gathers these flags.

Imagine Learning also says Imagine Edgenuity is “equipped to detect and block some scripts,” and that the Proctorio lockdown browser “blocks userscripts and bots from Imagine Edgenuity and Imagine EdgeEX assessments.” SecureLock Browser stops students opening new tabs, browsers or programs, and IP Registry can block assessments from outside the school network. Which of these your school uses is your district’s choice.

Where Silent Student fits

We make Silent Student, a desktop app for Mac and Windows from El Dorado Ignition LLC. On Edgenuity the answer is partly. It is built mainly for college Canvas courses and reaches Edgenuity only through a link in a Canvas course. There it uses its general vision agent, not a solver written for Edgenuity: it plays lesson videos at normal speed and answers the questions in warm-up, instruction and assignment activities.

  • It does not take unit tests or exams, does not run inside a lockdown browser, and never unlocks an assessment or adds a retake.
  • Its time in Edgenuity is logged the same way yours is, and it does not pad or fake time. It does not hide from or get around any of the tools above, and we make no claim about what they flag.
  • We have published no Edgenuity run, so we publish no accuracy figure. Your teacher grades essays, so read anything it writes.
  • Plans are $11.99, $24.99 and $49.99 a month, with no free plan. It runs on a Mac with Apple Silicon or Windows 10 or later, in public beta.

Imagine Learning’s Terms. The End User Terms of Service, last revised January 1, 2022, say users will not “use any technology, code, or other method to automatically skip content or answer questions provided through the Services,” and that “The building, use, or sharing of any such technology, code, or other methodology is strictly prohibited.” In our reading, that reaches Silent Student, which answers lesson questions. We are not lawyers, so read the Terms yourself. Your school’s policy applies too, and under Silent Student’s Terms (section 5) you are responsible for both.

Questions people ask

Is there an Edgenuity unit test answer key?

Not for students. Imagine Learning’s educator guide says a test or exam can stay blocked until the teacher unlocks it, and advises teachers to review student work before unlocking a high-stakes assessment. Answer sheets posted online are not official keys.

Is there an answer key for Edgenuity guided notes?

We found no Imagine Learning page that offers one to students. The student guide’s advice is to take eNotes or paper notes for each lesson and pause the video if you need more time; the transcript and glossary are in each lesson activity.

What happens if I fail an Edgenuity quiz?

Usually you get another try. The student guide says “If you fail an assessment, you can access an additional attempt to raise your score.” If you have used every retake, your teacher has to add one. Our Edgenuity page on what happens if you fail an Edgenuity quiz notes that Silent Student never adds retakes or unlocks anything.

Can Edgenuity detect AI?

It can if your district turned on the Academic Integrity Bundle. Its Generative AI Detector scans submissions to help educators judge whether an AI tool wrote them, and Speed Radar flags work done faster than expected.

Does Silent Student take Edgenuity tests?

No. It does not take unit tests or exams, does not run in a lockdown browser and never unlocks an assessment. Imagine Learning’s terms bar using code to answer questions, so read them first.
